Ubiquilight fiber laser modules are by far the smallest commercially available fiber lasers. Ubiquilight OMR advances dramatically reduce size and cost as compared to conventional fiber lasers
Conventional fiber laser designs take great pains to suppress feedback of the optical pump light into the pump laser cavity and to remove pump laser light from the output beam. The Ubiquilight OMR design instead relies on intentional feedback into the pump laser cavity.
Two major benefits accrue from this advanced OMR-based approach:

An optical isolator between the pump laser and the fiber laser is not required. This reduces size and eliminates cost as compared to conventional fiber lasers.

No wavelength separator (or Wavelength Division Multiplexer) is needed to separate unabsorbed pump light from the fiber laser emission output. The Ubiquilight OMR instead re-circulates pump light through the fiber into the pump laser cavity. This approach enhances multi-pass absorption of the pump light, increases net absorption and enables shorter fiber laser optical cavities. The separator-free Ubiquilight OMR further reduces device size and cost.
